Fat Loss: Week Five, Day Six
Being Saturday, I decided to have a nice, big breakfast, but even so I tried to be moderate. I only had a couple of eggs and only one piece of toast and an apple instead of orange juice. Over the past two or three days I've also learned that I can satisfy myself with smaller servings of "bad" foods.
For example today I only had 1 ounce of tortilla chips instead of my usual 3 ounces. Also, when I've had beer this week I've only had half a bottle instead of the whole thing. You still get the taste of the stuff you like, but without getting the calories of eating or drinking as much as usual.

Since tomorrow is technically my "free day" (my one day of the week where I don't track what I eat, indulge my tastebuds on stuff I avoid during the week, and don't worry about working out), I decided to hit it pretty good today with my workout.
I was a bit leery due to my hip flexor issue, but I figured I would go ahead and try to exercise until I felt discomfort or pain. To my amazement, I was able to crank out a record number of reps of the very demanding Turkish Get-Up, along with some other decent exercises.
4:30PM - Workout duration: 15 minutes
- 18 Turkish Get-Ups (36 lb kettlebell)
- 20 crunches
- 10 second side bridge, 2 on each side
- 25 pushups, feet elevated
- 6 curls (36 lb KB)
- 20 alternating one-handed swings (36 lb kettlebell)
I felt quite done at the end of the above, but to my amazement my hip flexor pain was less after the workout than before! I don't know if that was due to the Turkish Get-Ups, but it could very well be.
