Fat Loss: Week Four, Day Two
The way things worked out today I ended up not eating much during the day and ended up eating a dinner about twice as high in calories as usual (although it was all "good" food). I wanted to stay farther below my daily caloric target than 100 calories due to going over yesterday, but hey, I'll take that.
I feel like this week is a turning point... I'm really starting to see a difference in the mirror. I've gone from looking "soft" to the beginnings of definition in my abs, shoulders and upper arms.
I'm not where I want to be yet, but I now look reasonably fit. To think that I've been only three weeks away from looking like this for so long... Yeesh!
Click here for today's diet journal.
I picked today to mow my evil, all-hill lawn and I decided to throw in a workout directly after. The workout was short, since I was pretty tired from doing the yard, but I tried to go from exercise to exercise with no rest in between each one.
4:45PM
20 squats (54 lb kettlebell), 20 alternating one-handed swings, 20 around the body swings, 20 pushups, 20 second side bridge each side.
Unfortunately I feel like I have some tendonitis in my right elbow, so I'm going to try eliminating everything except kettlebell swings and squats from my workouts. I think that pushups and those around the body swings may be exacerbating the problem.
Vic, I like your little chart of what you eat. I'm going to use it. I'm going to start today keeping track and expect some good results with you as a role model.
Here is a great site for finding the calorie count, etc of foods
www.calorie-count.com also, here is a site to see foods as they appear on the ORAC scale, www.accuracyingenesis.com/antiage.html
Be sure to include these in your diet. I make it a point to include spinach, berries, broccoli in my breakfast smoothies every morning and eat a few dried plums (ok-prunes)every day just to get in those antioxidants. Keep up the good work..
Thanks for the resources, I'll check them out.
In regards to tracking what you're eating... As long as your entering accurate numbers I think it will be quite an eye-opener.
Best,
Vic
