Fat Loss: Week Three, Day Three
Today I didn't get a workout in. Kind of a whirlwind day for me out and about, plus I just had to get in a viewing of Star Wars Episode II before going to see Episode III tomorrow.
Plus, I was pretty sore from having done much more than usual over the last couple of days. Tomorrow I'll hit it hard again.
Side note on the diet: When I got home from being out I was quite hungry and my brain was screaming at me to just go grab a bag of tortilla chips and some salsa. Here's where discipline comes in, folks. I had to force myself to actually open the fridge and heat up some real food. I didn't even have to cook it, and it only took probably an extra three minutes, but it was amazing the force of will it took to steer away from those damned chips. They're my particular weakness.
Oh, and the choice of the 9 Grain Bagel at Einstein's saved me 110 calories over getting a regular bagel.
Anyway, here's the days food and again I managed to come in under my newly established target of 1,800 calories.

Thanks for the daily updates. I am really enjoying them. I agree that cutting back on the alcohol is very helpful. First, it reduces, as you say, the "empty calories", and when I drink anything, even one glass of wine or a beer, I lose my ability to say no to food I shouldn't be eating. BTW, when you show the list of the foods you eat, could you consider putting things like fat, protein, carbs and calories after each food item vs. listing them in your daily total at the end? I am sure that would be a pain for you, but it would give me a better idea of the contents of individual foods. Hope your back gets better. Enjoyed your book. Mike
Thanks Mike, I appreciate your comments and I'll look into adding the info for the individual food items.
As far as alcohol is concerned, I guess I'll have to wait until I reach my goal. I love a glass of red wine now and then and as the weather heats up a cold frosty one sounds good now and then too.
