Fat Loss: Week Three, Day Two

What I was trying to accomplish with my minimal workouts was both to protect my lower back but also to see how little I could get away with and still work towards my body fat goal. The reason for the latter is that I realize that people are more likely to go for it if there is an easier path and I want to encourage folks to lose fat. This week I've increased the intensity and volume of the workouts to more closely resemble what I actually did during the course of writing my "Lose the Last 10 Pounds" book.

At the very least, my back is not getting any worse, so I'm forging ahead. Of course the down side of increased kettlebell reps is that I've gone from not feeling muscle soreness at all to feeling post-workout soreness. Oh well, at least that tells me I'm working those muscles. Smile

Today you'll see that I did cave and have some potato chips as well as ice cream. I was out at a charity event for my daughter's school and I decided to indulge just a bit. At least I didn't have the whole bread roll or any potato salad and only a half portion of chicken. Overall I had more protein and less fat than usual, and I came in closer to my daily calorie goal.

Today's workouts combined higher ballistic kettlebell reps plus since I would like to see some muscular hypertrophy in my shoulders and arms, higher reps of some of the more traditional bodybuilding exercises.
