Starting Over
So here's the deal...
As I note in my eBook, The Last 10 Pounds, I've had some pretty serious back problems including scoliosis, spondylolisthesis, and degenerating discs. Since the time I wrote the book, I've managed to re-injure it and it's been a huge detriment to my ability to work out.
It's hard enough to force oneself to go work out... imagine that the end result the next day would be excruciating pain that leaves you in such a manner that pretty much all you can do is sit in a reclined position. Needless to say, eventually my workouts faded away and I had to try to maintain a low body fat percentage through diet alone.
Well I've decided that I've had enough, and a few weeks ago I underwent injections between certain facets in my spine. It didn't help a whole lot, but I'm going for another set this week. I've also decided that I'm going to try to figure out a way I can incorporate workouts back into my life while trying not to exacerbate my back pain.
One of the purposes of this blog will be to hold my feet to the fire and make me walk the walk of my eBook.
Today I got on the scale and pulled out the old calipers. Sure enough I'm back to 13% body fat (13.2% if you want to know exactly what my self-measured baseline is). I'm still at 158 lbs, but my waist is also back up to 34.25".
I'm going to follow the concepts I laid out in "The Last 10 Pounds" and my goal is to use my own book to get back down to sub-10% body fat within 2 months.
I'm going to track my progress in detail here and you'll get to benefit from seeing exactly how I do it on a day by day basis. :-)
To learn how you can use these techniques for fat loss, read "The Last 10 Pounds" eBook.Vic, I admire you getting back into shape and know the pain associated with the lower back. I hope you're talking to or least have seen a good physical therapist to speed recovery. Good Luck.

Thanks, Trace. I'm reading an excellent book on back fitness by Dr. Stuart McGill called "Ultimate Back Fitness and Performance" which I'm using as a guideline on what to do and what not to do.
